Weeping Water City Pool Update

We want to take a moment to provide an update on some of the challenges we are currently facing at the Weeping Water City Pool.

As many of you know, our pool is an older facility, and with age comes occasional maintenance issues. We are currently dealing with a significant water leak within the pool system. While a permanent repair is needed, the scope of the work would require a substantial financial investment that was not budgeted for this season, as well as an extended pool closure of at least two weeks during the height of summer. For those reasons, a complete repair will likely need to be addressed after the pool season ends. In the meantime, we are actively working with temporary solutions and making adjustments to keep the pool operating as safely and effectively as possible for our community.

Because of the amount of water being lost each day, we must continually add fresh water to maintain safe operating levels and protect our equipment. Unfortunately, adding large amounts of fresh water daily makes it difficult to maintain proper chemical balance. When chemical levels fluctuate, water clarity can be affected, which is what led to today's early closure. For the safety of our swimmers, we must be able to clearly see the bottom of the pool at all times.

We understand how disappointing the delayed opening and unexpected closures have been, especially for families and children who look forward to spending their summer at the pool. Please know that we share that frustration and are working diligently each day to manage these challenges and minimize disruptions whenever possible.

Our staff is committed to doing everything we can to keep the pool open and operating safely. We greatly appreciate the patience, understanding, and support from our community as we work through these challenges. We will continue to provide updates and communicate any changes as they occur.
